description

The "Future of Youth Day" is to steer debate and interest in policy responses that address the full cycle of a working life. This includes innovative employment strategies that address issues of both the supply and demand for jobs including through pro-employment (macro and) economic policies, and lifelong learning and “proactive” labour market programmes.

The event will feature interesting knowledge generating/sharing activities such as the following:

  • TED talk style keynote speech followed by fireside chat
  • Interactive panel debate
  • Live-streaming and interactive mobile technology to involve in-person and online audience
  • An information booth on Decent Jobs for Youth: Booth outside the conference room with information about the ILO’s Youth Employment Programme and Global Initiative on Decent Jobs for Youth; including touch-screen to explore ILO tools including the info story on What stands between youth and decent jobs?
