Tecpán, a small Guatemalan city, is struggling as a result of the country's digital divide. Guatemalan women and girls are disproportionately affected. In recognition of International Girls in ICT Day on 25 April, and to offer services and resources to the Tecpán community, Pro Mujer partnered with SERES and SHEVA, an innovative Guatemalan organization that teaches women and girls how to take advantage of existing life-changing tools accessed through mobile technology. The organizations combined resources and expertise to invite 35 girls to participate in two She's Connected training sessions. The programme taught participants basic mobile technology skills and expanded their perspectives of information and communication technologies.
