Today, as the world struggles to cope with the novel coronavirus pandemic, young people are likely to disproportionately suffer from its social and economic impacts. Webinar participants will discuss together  what works to support young people in labour markets hit by crises as well as innovative and potential approaches to safeguard young workers and young entrepreneurs' jobs and livelihoods. 

Session panellists : 

Susana Puerto leads the Global Initiative on Decent Jobs for Youth, an inclusive multi-stakeholder partnership chaired by the International Labour Organization to scale up action and impact on youth employment within the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Prior to joining the ILO, Susana worked at the World Bank and the Inter-American Development Bank. She serves on a number of executive boards of youth employment partnerships. Susana is an economist from Georgetown University.

Jonas Bausch is a youth employment expert at the International Labour Organization (ILO) in Geneva.  He advises ILO constituents on delivering and monitoring youth employment interventions and is an accomplished lecturer and facilitator in related training and workshops. Jonas previously served as Monitoring & Evaluation Officer of the Decent Jobs for Egypt’s Young People project at the ILO Country Office in Cairo and also worked for the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development in Paris on improving the effectiveness of development co-operation.
