Youth Business International joins Decent Jobs for Youth

Youth Business International commits to Decent Jobs for Youth, to create sustainable change for young entrepreneurs

Youth Business International (YBI), a global network of expert organisations supporting underserved young people to turn their ideas into successful businesses, has  committed to the Global Initiative on Decent Jobs for Youth. YBI commits to support 1 million young entrepreneurs (18-35 years) to start, strengthen and grow sustainable businesses by 2025.

YBI’s support focuses on young people with a viable business idea but without access to the support structures they need to set up and run a business. YBI connects and supports expert organizations, partners and young people to develop and scale new solutions to the critical challenges facing underserved young entrepreneurs. YBI members around the world provide young entrepreneurs with an integrated package of financial and non-financial support to help them start and grow sustainable businesses.

The Global Initiative on Decent Jobs for Youth and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development

Decent Jobs for Youth was launched in 2016 as a UN system-wide effort, focusing on the youth employment challenge that is central to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. It has emerged as a global, multi-stakeholder initiative that brings together governments, social partners, the private sector, youth and civil society organizations, and others. They work together to share knowledge, leverage resources and take action at country and regional level, to support young people in accessing decent work and productive employment worldwide.

YBI’s commitment will be delivered through the global network of expert organizations present in 50 countries across 6 continents, working to develop new solutions to the critical challenges on digital skills for youth, youth in the rural economy, and youth entrepreneurship and self-employment.
