Accelerating progress under SDG8 and Promoting full employment and decent work for all

This event features the launch of the ILO report "Time to Act for SDG 8: Integrating Decent Work, Sustained Growth and Environmental Integrity", and a policy discussion on accelerating progress under SDG8 and on promoting full and productive employment and decent work for all. The opening remarks at the event will be delivered by Mr. Guy Ryder, ILO Director-General and Ms. Magdalena Valerio, Minister of Labour, Migration and Social Security of Spain.

Within the 2030 Agenda, Sustainable Development Goal 8 (SDG8) calls for the promotion of inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full employment and decent work for all. This seminar will bring together ILO tripartite constituents, policy-makers and experts from ILO and other international agencies, development partners, academic and research institutions and representatives from permanent missions based in New York, to discuss the findings of a new ILO report on SDG8 and to review practical ways to reinvigorate the commitment to promote full, productive and freely chosen employment and accelerate progress towards achieving the SDGs.
